Frederick W. Lenn was buried with honors at the Quantico National Cemetery in Virginia. He died of cancer on January 23d.

Nobody called him "Frederick." He was "Freddie" to those who outranked him, and "Coach" to juniors and members of his boxing teams. Many were those who called him "friend."

Surprisingly, few of his compadres knew his family name: Lenkoski. He was one of nine children.''

From military records it seems Freddie Lenn coached boxing at Quantico Marine Base for many years. According to his tombstone he served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He joined the Marines in 1933 at age 18 and left in 1968 at age 53.
