  • "Rallying in the last three rounds, Fritzie Zivic of Pittsburgh, won the decision over Eddie Booker, San Francisco, in the eight round semi-final. It was Booker's first defeat after rolling up a string of 45 straight victories since he turned professional. Booker won the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds with better boxing after getting an even break in the 1st. Then Zivic came on in the 5th and almost closed Booker's left eye with vicious rights to the head. He kept up the fast pace and in the 8th round Booker, who could hardly see out of the injured eye, was in bad shape. Booker half slipped and was punched to the canvas for a count of one in the final round." -United Press

This bout was fought on the undercard to the 15 round Billy Conn - Fred Apostoli fight.
