Veto stops Zeliev in second round in Germany
In a lightweight bout Optimum Sports Agency's Hungarian prospect Gabor Veto stopped Ibragim Zeliev in Karlsruhe in the second round with an impressive combination to the body and head.
The 20-year-old Veto (2-0), former member of Hungarian amateur national team, controlled round one with long, straight punches. His boxing style and hand speed proved too much for the frustrated Zeliev (0-2). Veto of Varpalota, immediately showed his superiority over an outclassed Zeliev. He landed stiff left jabs to the Russian’s head and sharp follow up combinations. Midway through the 2nd round, Veto caught the tired Zeliev with a right and hard left to the head and referee Mirko Skoko immediately stopped the fight.
"It’s been a very good learning experience to fight against an opponent with a classic russian style. I look forward to work hard and give my best effort to reach my goals“, said Veto. With the victory Veto now looks towards a match with Perparim Hajdini (1-1) on the undercard of the WBC World Title fight between Vitali Klitschko and Juan Carlos Gomez in Hans-Martin Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart next Saturday.
