Halsey did not answer the bell for the 8th round, due to a badly swollen eye. Halsey was knocked down with a right cross to the head in the 5th round. He was floored twice in the 7th, first with a right to the neck, and the second time from a left to the stomach. The bell rang with Halsey still on the floor at the count of six, after the last knockdown.
