"Unranked Gaspar Ortega, making a gallant bid for a position among the top ten welterweights, won a unanimous 10 round decision Monday night over 7th ranked Charley Scott of Philadelphia. Ortega, of Mexicali, Mexico, reversed the score of a match between the two fighters last year.This time, Ortega carried the fight to his opponent. Ortega's best punch was a right to the head, one of which staggered Scott moments after the start of the 5th round. Scott, a converted southpaw, landed several left and right combinations to the head and jaw, but Ortega never appeared to be in trouble." -Associated Press
