Bout Summary
Golovkin outworked Rubio in a competitive first round, GGG landing more punches but Rubio in the house. In the second round, Golovkin landed an overhand power left to the head of Rubio with Rubio on the ropes. Rubio then went to his back on the canvas, and took the full ten count in Spanish from referee Jack Reiss. After the knockout, Rubio got up and was motioning with a glove to the back of his head to the referee. However, the knockout blow was clean, and the count (other than the fact it was given in Spanish for Rubio, not in English) was of normal speed.
