"Juarez DeLima of Brazil scored a unanimous decision over aging George Benton of Philadelphia Friday night in a 10-round middleweight bout at MSG's Felt Forum. DeLima completely outclassed the 37-year-old Benton, who spent practically the entire night on the defensive. The 27-year-old Brazilian, weighing 160, hit Benton with an arsenal of punches throughout the fight but could not floor the veteran. Benton, 161, pressed the attack only occasionally but each time he did DeLima met his advances with perfect counter punches." -United Press International
