"George Chuvalo of Toronto scored a TKO over Bill Nielsen of Omaha, Neb., in their heavyweight fight at Maple Leaf Gardens Monday night. Chuvalo unleashed a savage fury of blows in the 8th round and referee Jackie Silver stopped the one-sided match at 2:47 of the round after the 199 lb. Nielsen had taken several crunching lefts and rights to the head without a return. There were no knockdowns in the scheduled 10 round affair. Chuvalo, 209, employed a two-fisted body attack and an occasional stiff left jab to wear down Nielsen." -Canadian Press
