"Aggressive Howard King of Reno, Nev., used his experience and a two-fisted attack to gain an 8 round split decision over George Chuvalo of Toronto tonight at Maple Leaf Gardens. A crowd of about 3,500 saw the free-swinging King edge the youthful Chuvalo on sheer volume of leather. He couldn't muster enough heavy artillery to get Chuvalo in trouble at any time during the bout, however, and was on the ropes himself in the final round as the 19 year old Chuvalo tried to pull it out of the fire." -United Press
