- Cooper remained on his stool and did not answer the bell to begin the third round. The crowd of 2,000 booed loudly.
- Foreman's purse was $50,000.
- Because Cooper showed no signs of injury, the commission withheld his purse of $17,500.
- Cooper tested positive for cocaine. The commission agreed not to suspend his license if he accepted a $1,500 fine and agreed to random drug tests over the next six months at his own expense.
- Cooper later said he hooked up with a pair of identical twin sisters several days before the fight, which began a nonstop binge of alcohol, cocaine and sex. "I didn't sleep for three days," Cooper said. "They set me up." Cooper said he wasn't sure who set him up, but he was told it was Archie Moore, one of Foreman's trainers.
