George Releford is the oldest brother and uncle of the Releford (boxing) Family of Fort Worth, Texas. Releford was a Fort Worth Golden Gloves champion and an American Armed Forces boxer representing the U.S. Marine Corp in national and international amateur competition while doing a hitch.
Younger brothers are: Anthony Releford, Kenneth Releford, and Vincent Releford. Nephew: Kendrick Releford is a former WBO Latino Heavyweight Champion.
