George Rose challenged unsuccessfully for the British and British Empire Lightweight Title on October 20, 1930, losing by 6th round kayo to Al Foreman. In 1931 he would capture the West England Welterweight Title. He also won two British Welterweight Title eliminators, though he lost the third one, and never challenged for that title.
