"Anton Raadik, rough, tough middleweight of Estonia, scored a surprising 10th round TKO over the veteran Georgie Abrams, Washington, D.C., in the return of major boxing to Chicago rings. Abrams was floored heavily twice in the 10th after first being dropped in the 9th. He was knocked sprawling to the canvas from left hooks to the chin and when he hit the ring floor the second time, referee Davey Miller ended the uneven battle." -Associated Press
- This was the first card held in Chicago since February 20th when Sam Baroudi died from injuries sustained in his bout with Ezzard Charles.
- Raadik accepted this bout on short notice, subbing for Sugar Ray Robinson, who claimed he had the flu.
- The following day, Abrams' manager Chris Dundee announced Abrams' retirement.
