Obituary

Havre —Gerald Milton Little Owl, 60, an Army Veteran, of Havre, passed away from natural causes on May 18, 2015 at his Dallas TX home. A traditional wake will be on Monday, May 25, 2015, 5 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Fort Belknap, MT. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 10 a.m. at The Highland Park Cemetery, Havre, Mt.

Gerald, born March 26, 1955 was the oldest of seven children. His parents are Mary Ann Kezar (Carrywater) and Milton Little Owl. Gerald married Delores (Stiffarm) Little Owl in July 1973, and, together, had five children: Michael Little Owl, Gerald Little Owl Jr., Anthony Little Owl, Vina Little Owl, and Crystal Little Owl.

Gerald's stepfather, Leon Kezar, taught him and his brother, Tommy, how to box at an early age. Gerald's accolades include a two-time National Golden Glove Championship title, and then he joined the Army after graduating from Havre High School. Although he wanted to stay in the Army, his love of family brought him back to Montana where he worked for the Fort Belknap College, and at The Fort Belknap Credit Department. He attended college at the University of Great Falls. Gerald's forte lied in computers and numbers, and this natural inclination along with his love of reading developed into an appreciation of education that he instilled in his children. As a Boxing Coach, he motivated his fighters to do their best, trained hard, and learn from other pugilists; this mentality resulted in team trophies, and outstanding fight awards. Our support and fans helped. Gerald, a man with a gentle sense of humor, followed the Golden Rule. Gerald, a warrior in Christ, we love you and we'll see you again someday.

Gerald is preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Ann Kezar; Father, Milton Little Owl; Stepfather, Leon Kezar; brother, Michael "Pumpkin" Little Owl; son, Gerald Little Owl, Jr., and many other beloved relatives.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Delores Little Owl and children, brother, Thomas Little Owl; sister, Gloria Little Owl, sister, Kristina Kezar; and sister, Patti Kezar; sister, Cindy Carrywater, and his brothers, Ken Blackbird and Mike Strike, as well as nieces, nephew's grandchildren, and countless relatives.
