- Originally scheduled for ten rounds, shortened to eight rounds for the Fox Sports telecast.
- A quiet slow motion cautious defensive heavyweight bout, with Chambers slowly coming forward mostly wearing rabbit ears in front of his face. Washington moved around the edge of the ring in circles, with the ring not being cut off. Chambers was unable to penetrate Washington's defenses with his overhand right hand. Washington, with clear height and reach advantage, was a bit busier throwing jabs, but the count of punches landed was not significant for both fighters. Rather, Washington simply looked busier while he missed 406 punches! Chambers landed 42 of 156 punches thrown, roughly one in four punches landed. Clean bout, no fouls, almost no holding, and no power punches of significance. The rounds appeared very close. Washington won them on the volume of punches thrown, and won seven or eight rounds by an average of three or four more punches landed per round. The crowd booed the bout for lack of heavyweight action. One judge gave Chambers one round.
- Compubox statistics of punches thrown and landed: Washington 63 of 469 (13%), Chambers 42 of 158 (27%).
- Washington outstruck Chambers and landed more power shots in rounds 1-3 and 8. Chambers landed more total and power punches in rounds 6 and 7 and connected on more power shots in rounds 4 and 5 (both rounds even in terms of total punches).
