"Gil Turner, 143, tonight scored a TKO over Beau Jack, 145, Atlanta, Ga., when repeated right hand blows to the jaw left the former lightweight champion helpless on the ropes in the 8th round of a scheduled 10 rounder at the Arena. It was the 20th straight pro victory and the 18th knockout for the 20 year old hometown boy who gained a unanimous decision over Jack in the same ring last April." -United Press
