Turner closed with a rush down the stretch after a spotty start when he let the Italian bull him. It was the more accurate fire of Turner, of Philadelphia, that swung the balance against the sturdy Scortichini's headlong style. There were no knockdowns in the rousing battle in which Turner was cut over the left eye and both were warned.
