Snyder was a promoter and manager in Enid, Oklahoma. He was the manager of Dude McCook who he also promoted numerous times during McCook's run as a popular attraction in Enid. Outside of the ring, Snyder represented the National Refining Company in Enid. Snyder had arrived in Enid twenty years before his death, after a stint in the Navy, where he had served on submarines in the 1900s.
