Gregory Turner is a boxing trainer and former amateur boxer based in Trenton, New Jersey. As an amateur, Turner boxed out of the Trenton PAL during the 1970s. He reached the finals of the 1973 Junior Olympics Region I Tournament and competed in the 1975 New Jersey Golden Gloves. His amateur victories include decision wins over future standouts Albert Knight and Derek "Duck" Wright.
Turner later enlisted in the United States Navy, where he emerged as one of the service's top boxers while representing the Naval Air Station (NAS) Cubi Point Boxing Team in Subic Bay, Philippines. In 1983, he captured the 139-pound Intermediate Championship at the All-Navy Boxing Tournament in Little Creek, Virginia, earning the tournament's prestigious Outstanding Boxer Trophy as its top overall boxer.
After retiring from competition, Turner returned to Trenton, where he established himself as one of the city's respected boxing trainers, working with numerous amateur and professional fighters, including Mike Harris and Alvin Matthews.
