- Date: 1959-11-14

- Referee: Herbert Tomser
Contender Peter Mueller of Germany stormed out in the 1st round and attacked European middleweight champion, compatriot Gustav Scholz. They had met once before, in 1957, Scholz scoring an early KO.
This time Scholz responed by throwing three terrific hooks which seemed to demoralize Mueller totally. Scholz then drove Mueller around the ring, putting him down with another left hook. Mueller was up on wobbly legs and his father- in- law Jupp Thelen in the corner threw in the towel as Mueller collapsed on his stool. 1 minute and 22 seconds had elapsed.
