According to his obituary in digital form in the June 13, 1995 edition of the Arizona Star (Tucson, Arizona), Albert C. Wood, a former boxer who fought out of Tucson as "Happy Woods" during the late 1910s and the early 1920s, died on May 25, 1995 at the age of 95 in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. A World War I veteran, Wood made his ring debut on July 4, 1919, knocking out "a local fighter named Lorenzo Camacho during the second legal boxing in Arizona history." After leaving the ring, Wood worked as a railroad welder and boilermaker. Among his survivors was a son, Albert C. Wood Jr. of Tucson.
According to his page on the Find A Grave website, one Albert C. Wood was born on October 8, 1899 and died on May 25, 1995. He is buried in the Hot Springs Cemetery in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. He shared tombstone with one Dorothy J. Wood, who was born during 1909 and died during 1981.
