Satterfield appeared to have entered the bout out of shape. He took considerable punishment from Carter, for the first four rounds. In the 5th, Satterfield was sent through the ropes for a seven count, nearly landing in press row. Satterfield was quickly floored again near the ropes for an eight count. Satterfield got up and tried to trade with Carter, before Carter landed a hard right hand that cause Satterfield to slump to the canvas. Referee Teddy Martin stopped the bout at this juncture, as Satterfield slumped to the canvas.
