"Bob Satterfield finished fast tonight to win an upset split decision in 10 rounds over Harold Johnson, 3rd ranked light heavyweight. It was a good brawl throughout and it took a rousing, lightning fast finish to insure the triumph for Satterfield. Until the bell rang for the 9th he had been a cautious fighter, never taking a chance with his fragile jaw, but making every effort to keep Johnson running. Satterfield, in fact, landed the only critical blow of the brawl in the early rounds. It came in the 5th when Satterfield slammed a right to the jaw out of the melee and sent Johnson crashing down. Satterfield played it safe until the 10th round. Then he let fly with both fists. He rushed at Johnson and drove in with both fists. Never backing up, he kept Johnson on the defensive, and he came out of the round with the crowd of 2,136 cheering all the way." - United Press
