- Cuello warned in Round 2 for several blatant rabbit punches.
- Santana down in Round 3 from a big lead left hook. He was up by the count of nine, but staggered, and the referee stopped it.
Comments
- Cuello came out strong and aggressive in Round 1, looking to follow his jab with a left hand. Santana was primarily on the defensive but did manage a few punches. Cuello, as the telecast showed, actually threw two backhand rights neither of which drew a warning from referee Pete Santiago.
- In Round 2, Cuello grabbed the back of Santana's neck while he was bending down and landed 5+ blatant rabbit punches.
- Cuello the former kick boxer, with no amateur record, defeated a boxer who had not lost in five years.
