Pro Boxer: Record

In the January 15 1911 edition of the Indianapolis Star, Harry Donahue, then a student at Valparaiso University, was described as follows:

"He is dark complexioned, has a bright, snappy eye, strong, intelligent features and a splendid head of dark-brown hair. He is slender and graceful and is possessed of a small hand--not the big, gnarled mauley of the professional 'pug.' He dresses well and with great taste. A big white diamond in his tie is worn inconspiciously. That's the only jewel on his person. He looks as gentle as a spring zephyr. And he is too, except when he is in the ring. Then he slugs--for he is out to win, and a glance at his record shows that he usually accomplishes his purpose."
