A report of this fight by Rick Ricketson in the Denver Post said that "Capt. Bob Roper took a terrible pasting in nine out of twelve sessions..It was a pretty battle filled with thrills and oddities..Every inch of the contest was well worth witnessing..Greb never halted for an instant during the thirty-six minutes of boxing. He was hopping, jumping, swinging, rushing, jabbing all the way..Roper stood up and made a fight of it." Roper had a clear margin in round eight when he landed a series of rights and lefts to the jaw..The ninth and eleventh might have been called even. Greb checked Roper's intended rally with a couple of smashing rights in the twelfth."
