Newspaper decision for Evans from Richard Guy (Pittsburgh Gazette Times) and Pittsburgh Post. A draw from Jim Jab (Pittsburg Press), who remarked "Harry Greb, ex-amateur, was sent in to be slaughtered by Hooks Evans, the veteran" but that "Fans voted it one of the best-ever bouts" and scored it a draw." According to the Post it was "a good bout and Greb was going strong, although outpointed."
