According to the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame Web site, Harry Robertson (1909-1980) was a "Michigan Lightweight Boxing Champion" and a "great crowd-pleaser" who won 79 out of 89 bouts. He went out to be the coach and trainer of the Blue Water Golden Gloves Club, which was Michigan's most successful amateur boxing club during the 1940s and 1950s. He was inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame in 1977.

According to the 1930 U.S. Census database on Ancestry.com, there was a Harry E. Robertson, a black 21-year-old black native of Alabama, who was living with his 19-year-old wife in Port Huron, Michigan. He was listed as a "Boxer" who participated in "Prize Fights."
