Pete Sanstol 115 lbs beat Harvey Holliday 113 lbs by UD in round 6 of 6

  • Date: 1928-07-18
  • Location: Forum, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
  • Referee: Georges Rivet

"The little blonde Viking raked the westerner fore and aft with his bounding attack, and when it was clear Holliday was no match for him, switched into a display of feinting, ducking, and side-stepping, frequently turning his back on the bewildered western lad." Montreal Herald

"The semi-windup did not measure up to what was expected as Sanstol so outclassed Holliday that the bout bordered on the burlesque, and the commissioners seated around the ring gave instructions to Referee Rivet to order Sanstol to cut out his schoolboy tactics." The Gazette (Montreal), July 19, p. 13

This was Sanstol's fourth bout in Montreal. He had become such a local favorite that the Montreal newspaper La Presse, in its series of Sunday edition inserts, featured the Norwegian in its August 25, 1928 issue.
