Hector Thompson 137 lbs beat Hillary Connolly 138 lbs by PTS in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1972-09-11
- Location: Festival Hall, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
- Referee: Terry Reilly
"At Melbourne, Hector Thompson, 137, looked good in outpointing Victoria State lightweight champion Hilary Connolly, 138, over 10 rounds, non-title. Connolly, one of the gamest boys in boxing, gave his usual aggressive performance, but as he said after the fight, "Hec was too good". Hec certainly was. Everything fell into place for him. He boxed like a world champion and won by an enormous points margin." -Ring Magazine, January, 1973 issue
