"Hedgemon Lewis powerful right turned out to be strong medicine on Miguel Hernandez in a scheduled 10-round welterweight battle at the Olympic Auditorium. Before the end of the 1st round Thursday night Hernandez, 148, of Monterrey, Mexico, was on the canvas twice, the last time for the full 10-count. Lewis, 145, tagged Hernandez the first time after two minutes. The final blow came with four seconds remaining.
