  • It was second time around when the Zulu- South African Jake Tuli stopped the Dutch bantam ace Heintje ( Henk ) van der Zee in the 6th round. It was a rematch 9 months after Tuli had stopped van der Zee, also in the 6th, giving the Dutchman his first loss in a promising 13 fight- career.

After the 6th round, the referee examined van der Zee's swollen eye as well as a reopened cut on the eyebrow from the first round. The fight was stopped. Van der Zee started superbly. His long arms kept Tuli away, made the African miss like a novice. But soon Tuli began to bob and weave under van der Zee's arms and the outclassing began. The 4th and 5th round was a rough time for the Dutchman, Tuli's hooks, swings and jabs made a mess of his face.
