Henry Armstrong 138 lbs lost to Willie Joyce 138 lbs by MD in round 10 of 10

"Willie Joyce, a speedy Negro from Gary, Ind., outboxed Henry Armstrong through 10 rounds last night, piling up a terrific margin in points and landing at least three blows for every one he received. It was Armstrong's 16th fight in an amazing comeback campaign that has netted him 14 victories and only one other defeat. This beating was so convincing there could have been no doubt in the minds of 15,000 spectators who crowded into Olympic Auditorium, expecting to see Armstrong stop Joyce. From the 2nd round on through the 7th, Joyce beat a steady tattoo of left jabs on Armstrong's face, and most of them were jammed into Henry's eyes, which have given him so much trouble because of dangerous scar tissue. Armstrong's windmill attacks bore little resemblance to the savagery that made him the kingpin of the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight divisions." -Associated Press
