"Willie Joyce of Gary, Ind., shifted from power to strategy last night to snap Hammerin' Henry Armstrong's string of comeback victories at 11. Armstrong, veteran Los Angeles puncher who once held three titles simultaneously, was breezing along the comeback trail until Joyce took the wind out of his sails. Joyce, who after taking the early rounds, had begun to wilt under the power of Armstrong's right crosses, but came out of his corner in the 8th with instructions to concentrate on hitting Armstrong with his right. The formula gave him added strength and he won the last three rounds and the unanimous decision at Chicago Stadium." -United Press
