"Henry Cooper, 33 year old British and Empire heavyweight champion, stopped challenger Billy Walker, 28, midway through the 6th round of their 15 round British title fight Tuesday night. Cooper dictated the fight from start to finish with left jabs and vicious left hooks which took all the steam out of Walker. Referee George Smith stopped the fight as blood poured from Walker's cut right eye. The end came after 40 seconds of the 6th round." -Associated Press
