Henry Cooper lost to Erich Schoppner by DQ in round 6 of 10

  • "Germany's light heavyweight champion Erich Schoeppner scored a TKO over England's Henry Cooper tonight when the Englishman was DQ'd midway through the 6th round of the scheduled 10 rounder. The bout ended when Cooper hit the German sharply in the neck after a break. Schoeppner collapsed and had to be carried to his dressing room. Schoeppner forced the fight most of the way and floored Cooper for an eight count in the 3rd round." -Associated Press
