"British and Empire heavyweight champion Henry Cooper used a jabbing left to score an easy 10 round decision over Cut and Shoot, Texas, visitor Roy Harris before a crowd of 10,000 at Wembley's Empire Pool Tuesday night. Cooper, who was cut over both eyes by Harris, weighed 185 1/2. Harris tipped the scales at 190 3/4. The only knockdown of the fight came in the 7th, when Harris was downed for six by a left hook to the jaw and a right to the body. Cooper piled up points with his left throughout the 10 rounder, but never really opened up unless his American opponent did so first." -United Press International
- The AP report on this same fight stated that Cooper dropped him in the 8th round and it was a right hand that turned the trick.
