"Henry Hank, 161 1/4, pounded out a unanimous 10 round decision in his middleweight battle with Joey Giardello, 159 3/4, in Cobo Hall's lavish Convention Arena. Hank, who pressed all the way, started the damage with a right in the 2nd round. It started Giargello's nose bleeding and it continued to bleed throughout the fight. Giardello's best round was the 7th, when he knocked Hank into the ropes with a right to the jaw. Hank recovered without further damage.
