Hiram B. Cook was a San Francisco-based boxing referee of the late 1800s/early 1900s. He was born in Taunton, Mass., in 1847. He moved to California and San Francisco in 1852. In 1865 he became involved with the Olympic Athletic Club, one of the oldest clubs in America. He started as a boxing judge, then refereed. By 1908 he had retired and was raising chickens near Trocadero.
