Horst Fascher

Horst Fascher, in 1960, lived in Hamburg, Germany, and was a "pocket-sized twenty-four-year-old of fearsome reputation: trained at the Reeperbahn's own boxing academy, he was an ex-featherweight champion with a prison record for accidentally killing a sailor in a street brawl." By 1960 he was the "unofficial protector," in the wild and dangerous St. Pauli district, of two young rock-and-roll acts from Liverpool, England: Tony Sheridan and The Beatles.
