Howard Winstone 126 lbs beat Don Johnson 126 lbs by PTS in round 10 of 10
- Date: 1965-03-29
- Location: Market Hall, Carmarthen, Wales, United Kingdom
- Referee: Ike Powell
"British and European featherweight champion Howard Winstone poked out a left jab with pistol-like precision Monday night to score a 10 round decision over Don Johnson of Los Angeles. Johnson was unmarked at the finish, but Winstone had a slight cut over his left eye, while his nose bled for much of the fight. The Welshman made good use of the ring and his superior footwork often got him out of danger when he was trapped on the ropes. Johnson tried to keep the bout at close quarters, where he usually had the upper hand, but Winstone did not allow that type of fight." -United Press International
- Johnson received three warnings from referee Ike Powell - in the 3rd for careless use of the head, in the 9th for illegal use of an elbow and in the 10th for punching low. Winstone drew a caution for using his head in the 7th.
- Unofficial UPI scorecard - 6-2-2 Winstone
