According to a February 27, 1923 THE TACOMA NEWS-TRIBUNE newspaper, Britt adopted the moniker of "Frankie Zink" after another boxer named Frankie Britt had been tossed out of a Portland, Oregon, ring. Local newspapers reporting on the same bout would sometimes use either Britt or Zink to identify this boxer.
