Kendall was involved in building up support for the conversion of a large carbarn in Milwaukie, Oregon into the Milwaukie. He served as matchmaker at this venue (1919-22), as well as promoter (1922), he also refereed.

In February 1923, Kendall left for Oakland to go into business with a friend.
