Sanderline Williams began his career 4-0 before suffering a unanimous decision loss to 14-0 Andre Cooper. He won the Ohio Middleweight Title in 1987 and fought for both the NABF Middleweight and Super Middlewight Titles; losing each on points. Toward the end of his career he came a journeyman opponent and fought an impressive list including Lindell Holmes, Herol Graham, Dwight Davison, Iran Barkley, Frank Tate, Merqui Sosa, Nigel Benn, Reggie Johnson, and Gerald McClellan. He fought James Toney twice in 1990 and earned a draw in their first meeting.
Williams was only knocked down twice in his pro career, he took a knee against Lindell Holmes and was dropped by Gerald McClellan. The only stoppage loss Williams suffered in his 15 defeat was to Lindell Holmes but it was due to a cut.
