Is this the correct Rocco Carbone ?
CARBONE - Rocco J., 64, of Buffalo, NY., retired firefighter & former accomplished amateur boxer died Friday (May 16, 2003) in Mercy Hospital after his second heart surgery in 14 years. He was with the Buffalo Fire Department from 1976 to 1989 and was a member of the Western New York Retired Firefighters Association. He also was a cement finisher. Carbone won a Golden Gloves championship in the bantam weight division in 1956, winning both the novice and the open competition the same night in Memorial Auditorium. He was a member of Ring 44, Buffalo Veteran Boxers Association. Carbone served in the U.S. Army Infantry from July 1959 to May 1961 and was stationed for 13 months in Korea. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, the former Rita Mirco; a son, Rocco A. of Hamburg; his mother, Dina of Buffalo; two sisters, Mary Deuschle of West Seneca and Anna Ketchum of Williamsville; four brothers, Anthony of Rochester, Dominic of Getzville, John of Hamburg and Joseph of Buffalo.
