According to the Feb. 23, 1915 TACOMA DAILY NEWS, Christian (who sometimes fought as Leo Bishop), was found guilty in police court of stealing a calf from Albert Dougherty, Puyallup valley rancher. He was sentenced to six months in jail after he pleaded guilty. He had had the calf butchered, and he sold the meat to ranchers and housewives. Leo also had played baseball with the South Tacoma Tigers.
