Per the November 9, 1925 TACOMA NEWS TRIBUNE newspaper, Porter -- a New York boxer -- died Nov. 7 when he was crushed beneath timber logs that had spilled from a railroad car near Junction City. Apparently he had been riding the train as a "hobo." He was 19-years-old. Exact date of birth unknown.
