Craig Bodzianowski fought out of Chicago in the 1980s as a cruiserweight. He was 13-0 as a pro when he was in the motorcycle accident where he lost his leg. It was after the accident, while on a prosthesis, that he had his greatest moments in the ring. He returned to boxing using a prosthesis, and fought for the cruiserweight championship of the world.

In 1990, he fought Robert Daniels and lost a 12 round unanimous decision for the WBA cruiserweight title. He then knocked out Bobby Hitz in the 3rd round and twice went the distance with Alfonzo Ratliff, former WBC cruiserweight champion.
