Jack Crim was a member of the Modoc Tribe, as his hometown was given as "Modoc," which is not a city in Oregon. (The Modocs are currently part of the confederation of Klamath Tribes.) Crim also promoted boxing shows in Chiloquin during the early 1930s. He would later work as a cornerman for Joe Kahut of Woodburn, OR, a Light Heavyweight contender of the mid-1940s.
Crim also had a brother who boxed, Buddy Crim.
