Shannon Rose Gunville Daughter of former pro boxer and artist Wayne Gunville, her trainer. Enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. Boxed at Turtle Mountain High School and learned the sport from her father. Had a 9-1 record as an amateur, beating the Minnesota & Canadian champions. Turned pro in September 2003. Played two years of basketball at Bismarck State College, where she led the conference in scoring.
